Billing questions

The things worth knowing before you enter a card.

What counts toward my storage?
The live data in your dataset plus the space held by snapshots. ZFS compression is applied before we measure, so you are billed for compressed size — most datasets shrink noticeably, and you keep the savings.
What happens if I go over my included storage?
Nothing breaks. Storage above your allowance is billed monthly at your plan's per-GB rate. You are only charged for what you actually use, and you can set a personal cap in the portal to make costs predictable.
What is the hard limit?
A ceiling enforced at the filesystem level, so runaway backups can never produce a surprise invoice. Reaching it pauses new writes — existing data and snapshots are never deleted. Raising it means changing plans.
Can I set my own spending limit?
Yes. Set a personal cap below your plan's ceiling in the portal at any time. When you hit it, new uploads pause instead of accruing overage.
Do you charge for bandwidth or API calls?
No. Ingress, egress, restores, and requests are all free. The platform fee plus any storage overage is the entire bill — restoring your data in an emergency should never come with a metered surprise.
What happens when the trial ends?
The 14-day trial needs no card. Subscribe to keep going. If you do not, the account is suspended and your data is kept for 7 days — reactivating within that window restores everything.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, up or down, from the billing page. Changes take effect immediately and billing is prorated by Stripe.
How do I cancel?
One button in the billing page. Service runs to the end of your paid period. No retention call, no email hoops.
